Make a claim

If you are faced with a claim, you can rely on Gibbs Denley to support you.   We pride ourselves on offering a service that will take away some of the stress and make the claims process as straightforward and friendly as possible.

It’s important to tell us about any incident that could lead to a claim immediately.  If you are not sure, please contact us to discuss.  Our staff will talk you through any concerns and help you identify the best course of action.

Things you should know before an incident occurs:

  • If you are unfortunate enough to be the victim of theft or malicious damage, contact the police immediately and get a crime reference number.  You will need this when reporting the claim
  • You should always try to minimise the costs of a claim.  This means you can take any reasonable steps to prevent further loss or damage including arranging emergency or temporary repairs if they are necessary.  Repairs that are not urgent should wait for authorisation.
  • You will need to provide evidence of the loss so take photographs and ask for contact details of any witnesses.  Keep your receipts somewhere safe and have an up to date list of the make, model and serial numbers of any expensive items.  Pictures of your items can also be very helpful if replacements are needed.
  • Do not admit or deny responsibility for an incident before speaking to us.

Making an insurance claim is never fun, but with Gibbs Denley on your side you can be sure that you will always have someone to turn to when you need it most.
